There’s a committee of folks appointed by a city’s mayor who have beenassigned the duty of considering some climate issues for the localcommunity.  They’ve made their recommendations and now are looking atways to implement their recommendations.  So far, so good.  Oh, yes,they’ve been following the sunshine law up to this point, it seems.

But suddenly, they have decided to make a trip to Colorado to hold aworkshop to consider these implementation plans.  What a great idea! Would you like to go to Colorado on the city’s dollar in September? Sure thing!  Bet it’s just gorgeous out around Denver in the fall. Well, I can only assume they are taking you and me and everyone else inthe world who wants to go with them on this soiree.  Right?  Because,of course, surely they know that each meeting of a public body “shallbe held at a place reasonably accessible to the public….” (Section610.020.2.)  That’s a mandatory requirement.  So, the only way they canhold this meeting in Colorado is if they are taking us with them.

Gotta go…need to get packin’.  See you on the plane with these clowns.  Unless their city attorney wises up first….
